Our Resources Follow the Australian Curriculum
As a teacher, you will know the importance of following the Australian maths curriculum in your lessons, and you can rest assured that our resources do just that. We break our lessons into the six strands of the curriculum and ensure that these are spread across each term to give your lessons variety.
Term 1
In the first term, you’ll cover number, statistics, algebra and space. This will encompass number values, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, number patterns, 3D shapes, collecting data and more. In this term, our resources will introduce your students to new and additional concepts to pave the way for their year 4 skill development.
Term 2
As time progresses into the second term, our lesson plans cover all six strands: number, measurement, statistics, algebra, space and probability. They will work on essential skills such as estimation, perimeter and area, symmetry, chance and algebraic equations to further develop their knowledge.
Term 3
The third term covers number, measurement, statistics, algebra and space, covering money as decimals, angles, time, data representation and more. Our lesson plans enable your students to develop new skills as well as further enhance those that they have already begun to cover.
Term 4
In the final term of year 4, our resources cover number, measurements, statistics and space. They focus on multiplication and division facts, capacity, statistical investigation, maps and more. This term will build upon the skills that they have already developed in the previous terms to finish the year with a well-rounded skillset.
Lesson Plans, Worksheets and Resources That Cater to All
Your students have their own learning styles that need to be catered to to maximise their understanding. But that doesn’t mean you have an abundance of time to create dedicated lesson plans, worksheets and resources that cater to all. That’s where we come in. At Learning Through Doing, you can teach high-quality, impactful lessons with a fraction of the prep time.
Each one of our lesson plans is split into three sections. They begin with a whole group activity to introduce the concept to the group before moving into a hands-on activity where your students can practice their understanding. Finishing with an individual task, you can assess the knowledge level of your Year 4 students to identify who may need further development. It’s simple, structured and consistent to achieve optimal results.
